What Even Is ‘Pulp Fiction’?

Pulp Fiction, by definition, is a genre of racy, action-based stories seen in the pages of cheap magazines between the 1900s and 1950s, predominantly in the US.

While not cheap by any means, the descriptors ‘racy’ and ‘action based’ are not far from the truth of the film of Pulp Fiction. These are almost implied distinguishers of Tarantino’s directorial work – ones that can be applied to much of his cinematic catalogue across his decades of film.
