A Galaxy Far, Far Away

Star Wars is an American space opera created by George Lucas, with Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope starting the epic franchise in 1977. Due to its popularity, the saga grew to be a worldwide pop-culture phenomenon, expanding into various films, television series, video games, theme parks, novels, and comic books.

A New Hope is the beginning of a vast storyline known as the Skywalker Saga, following a Tatooine-based moisture farmer called Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill). After Luke’s home is burnt to the ground by the Empire, killing his aunt and uncle in the process, Ben Kenobi (Alec Guinness) decides to train him.

Leaving the desert planet once and for all, Luke comes across a diverse cast of characters, including Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Princess Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher). Together, they set out to destroy the Empire for good.
