Oscar-Winner Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell team up for this laugh-out-loud romantic comedy. Overboard, 1987, Comedy Romance, 112 min **** A Garry Marshall directed comedy starring Kurt Russel (As Dean Proffitt) a widowed plumber with 4 boys, and Goldie Hawn (as Joanna) a rich selfish heiress who refuses to pay Dean for work, he has done on her luxury yacht. When Joana falls overboard and looses her memory, Dean claims her as his wife and gets her to look after his humble home and 4 rumbustious boys. There’s a lot of laughs to be had and some joy to be appreciated as well in this cult movie favourite. Russel and Hawn had been real life partners for three years when, Overboard, was made, and this is reflected in the great chemistry they have together. Among the supporting cast, Edward Hermann, Katherine Helmond, and particularly, Roddy McDowell, are noteworthy. Overboard, was remade in 2018 (reportedly inferior to the original).
