Welcome To The Circus

Originally released in 1941 by Walt Disney Studios, Dumbo was the company’s fourth animated feature film. The story drew inspiration from Helen Aberson and Harold Pearl’s original tale, following an extraordinary young elephant.

Living as part of the circus, Dumbo receives his mocking nickname due to his incredibly large ears. When his mother Mrs. Jumbo fights back against the other animals, she is locked away in a cage by the Ringmaster. Timothy, a small mouse, becomes the little elephant’s only friend and promises to help him become a star.

After a few mishaps, Dumbo is made into a clown in the circus act, and although this role has given him popularity amongst the audiences, he feels more miserable than ever. On the bright side, he discovers that his enormous ears enable him to fly. His mouse pal convinces him to use this incredible gift in his performance and gives him a feather, which will give him the courage to do so. Following his friend’s advice, Dumbo’s life turns around. He becomes a media sensation.

This enchanting story was adapted into a live-action feature film in 2019, directed by Tim Burton. The 2019 version of the film has an all-star cast, featuring Colin Farrell, Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito, Eva Green, Alan Arkin, Nico Parker, and Finley Hobbins. Despite being inspired by the original 1941 Disney adaptation, the plot has some slight changes.
