Welcome To Berk

Based on the 2003 book of the same name by Cressida Cowell, How To Train Your Dragon (2010) is set on the remote island of Berk, a Viking village that is frequently attacked by dragons. Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III (voiced by Jay Baruchel) is the protagonist of the film, who — as the son of the chief Stoick The Vast — must learn to fight so that he can protect his home.

However, Hiccup is far more interested in inventing mechanical devices with the village blacksmith, Gobbler. Using one of his inventions, Hiccup accidentally shoots down a ‘Night Fury’ dragon and establishes an unlikely friendship and alliance with it. He nicknames the dragon ‘Toothless’ due to its ability to retract its teeth. The film follows the adventures of this unlikely pair as they learn about each other’s lives, bring together the dragons and humans, and fight to protect the village of Berk.

The captivating story continued in 2014 with How To Train Your Dragon 2 and How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World (2019). Both films chronicle the adventures of Toothless, Hiccup, and the other Dragon riders of Berk as they continue to defend their village, explore new lands, and face new foes.
