You’ve Got A Friend In Me

Released in 1995, the first Toy Story was (and still is) one of the greatest animated films ever created. The movie follows the exploits of a group of sentient toys owned by a young boy called Andy. In the presence of humans, they pretend to be lifeless. With this concept, Disney Pixar raised the bar for the medium, attracting the attention of fans from different corners of the world.

Toy Story begins on the eve of Andy’s birthday. All of the toys — including Rex (Wallace Shawn), Mr. Potato Head (Don Rickles), Hamm (John Ratzenberger), and Slinky (Jim Varney) — are understandably anxious, fearing that they may be replaced. Woody (Tom Hanks), a pull-string cowboy, assures that they don’t need to worry. However, the arrival of Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen), a space ranger figure, steals Woody’s limelight — which he doesn’t take well.

The success of the first film allowed Pixar to create further sequels. Later instalments in the franchise introduced a ton of new characters, such as Bullseye, Jessie (Joan Cusack), Wheezy (Joe Ranft), Duke Caboom (Keanu Reeves), and Forky (Tony Hale).
