Welcome to the New Year’s Eve from hell. Sarah is working – again. Nick is her only customer – again. Same old, same old. Except this year, their countdown to midnight will be the strangest and deadliest they’ve ever known. Why is an Executioner Dalek targeting these two people, in this place, on this night? Why are they having to live through the same moments over and over? Cant the Doctor, Yaz and Dan save them and will everybody survive into the New Year?

In these Dr Who specials, 2 popular villains / monsters return. Eve of the Daleks sees the Dr, Yaz and Dan stuck in a New Year’s Eve time loop, with time running down to their eventual extermination. Legends of the Sea Devils brings back the Silurians counterparts as the Dr battles an invasion in ancient China - and lands the Tardis on the bottom of the ocean! For my money, Eve of the Daleks is the better of the 2 stories, but as always, Jodi Whittaker imbues her portrayal with optimism and hope, which always makes her a delight to watch. I’m a lifelong Dr Who fan, and these are a brilliant continuation of the mythos.
