Sean Penn directs a true story about a university graduate Christopher McCandless (Emile Hirsch) , who after finishing university gives his savings away to charity and sets off on a journey of self discovery. His aim is to go and live in Alaska in the wilderness, on the way to his dream he meets an array of characters that change his life forever.
