
Fresh out of college, Larry Lapinksy leaves his traditional Jewish home - and his over-bearing mother - in Brooklyn. An aspiring actor, he moves to Manhattan and the bohemian enclave of Greenwich Village where he seeks his fortune. He quickly takes his place among young creative types and is soon on the verge of a career breakthrough...but his mother finds it hard to let him go.
