Emily Blunt, Benicio del Toro and Josh Brolin star in this action thriller from director Denis Villeneuve. FBI agent Kate Macer (Blunt) is recruited by government official Matt Graver (Brolin) to join a team, led by mysterious consultant Alejandro (Del Toro), on a secret mission to bring down a drug lord in Mexico. The operation is fraught with danger and Kate finds herself forced to reconsider what she stands for as she tries to successfully complete the mission and make it out alive... The film was nominated for three Academy Awards including Best Cinematography and Best Original Score (Jóhann Jóhannsson).

The steelbook is nice. In reality it is a shiny, smooth, aluminium silver metal, which still works well with the imagery and style of the film (the picture here gave me the impression it would be a matte light brown). There is simple but effective visuals on the front and back of the steelbook, and a nice retro style still from the film across the inside, as can be seen in the provided pictures. The film itself is also great, although more of a drama than I thought it would be before I watched it, which is not a bad thing but might throw you off if you go in expecting a straightforward and focused action story. It is definitely not an action film, but raises questions about the morality of the US-Mexico drug war tensions, and definitely does have very good action when it does happen. Recommended.
