The Killing of a Sacred Deer is a film by Yorgos Lanthimos, and follows Steven a surgeon who’s life begins to falls apart when the intentions of Martin, a young man who visits him at the hospital, are made clear. From the get go you can tell something is very off with the interactions between Steven and Martin. That intrigue carries throughout the film, and while you wont have all the answers by the end, there are plenty of twists and turns along the way. If you’re familiar with some of Lanthimos’s previous work, and how his films have a very weird but well thought edge to it, this falls into a similar category. All of the actors including the younger ones give fantastic performances, stand outs being Nicole Kidman and Barry Keoghan. So while the plot line is weird, and again you wont have everything fully explained by the end, it’s a very entertaining and well crafted thriller.
