The war between the Coordinators ZAFT forces and the Earth Alliance has raged on for 11 months now. Kira Yamato is a young coordinator who sought refuge on a neutral colony belonging to the peaceful country of Orb. The peace is broken by an attack by ZAFT in a bid to steal prototype giant robots, called Gundams, destined for the Alliance military. Unfortunately, when Kira inadvertently pilots a Gundam into battle for the Alliance he finds himself opposing his childhood friend, Athrun Zala, on the battlefield!
