The Ultimate Fighting Championship (otherwise known as UFC) is the largest mixed martial arts promotion company in the world, headed by UFC president Dana White since 2001.

Rules And Competitions

During its earliest days, UFC was commonly known as having few rules. Though certain actions such as eye gouging and biting were not allowed, competitors could still attack with groin strikes and hair pulling – this was later changed.

Depending on the circumstances of the fight, match length can vary. However, traditionally, no round can be longer than five minutes. In total, Championship and main event fights last for a total of five rounds.

Many competitions are fought with large pay incentives, stretching into the millions. This does, naturally, depend on the profile of the fights – relating to the fighters involved and the significance of the reward.
