Former Marine Monty Halls has a fast growing reputation as an explorer, writer and television presenter. Monty, with his trusty dog Reuben, has now completed three series on mainstream TV, the latest of which ‘Great Irish Escape’ was aired in July at prime time on BBC2.
With a first class honours degree in Marine Biology, Monty won Channel 4’s Superhuman competition in 2004 and has subsequently presented documentaries for the Discovery Channel, National Geographic, Channel 4, BBC1 and BBC2. With viewing figures over 3 million, Monty’s programmes have a large audience which is certain to grow further. Now, for the first time, his three BBC series are being released on DVD.
The earlier series ‘Monty Halls’ Great Escape’ and ‘Monty Halls’ Great Hebridean Escape’ are both based in the west coast of Scotland. His new series features Monty living and working in Connemara on the west coast of Ireland with the Irish whale and dolphin conservation group.
