CD Projekt Red’s Latest Hit

Cyberpunk 2077 is a video game developed by CD Projekt Red and released in December 2020. After being announced back in May 2012, fans were eagerly awaiting the game’s release (coinciding with the anticipatory build-up to The Witcher 3, which released to high critical acclaim in 2015).

Originally, the Cyberpunk franchise began back in 1988, with the tabletop role-playing game set in a dark dystopian world in the year 2013. In the game, global superpowers have collapsed, leaving the world and its resources in the hands of large corporations that fight each other for dominance and power.

The first edition proved so popular that a second edition was released in 1990, named Cyberpunk 2020. And, of course, this has subsequently grown into a full-fledged role-playing game (RPG).

Cyberpunk 2077 takes place in the dystopian ‘Night City’, an open world with six separate regions. Players assume the role of V, who is a customisable mercenary that they use to navigate through the narrative.

In addition to its alluring premise, the game also features original music by stars such as A$AP Rocky, Grimes, and many more – joined by actor Keanu Reeves, playing revolutionary and rock musician Johnny Silverhand.
