Key Ring Corkscrew
A$26.99
The Key Ring Corkscrew is another great little idea from those design bods at Suck UK. Now pocket corkscrews are hardly original, but this one is the first one we've seen that looks quite so neat and works quite so well. Its solid metal design is nevertheless lightweight (so it won't weigh down your pocket too much) and the butterfly opening mechanism is a breeze to operate. It folds open and shut with ease, and a small clip stops it opening inadvertently in your pocket.
There's nothing more irritating than being chilled out in the park with a bottle of wine and no corkscrew - the only mildly entertaining bit being watching everyone trying out their 'infallible' (but ultimately disastrous) corkscrewless bottle opening technique that they learnt at college. Once you've been through this experience a few times it becomes painfully apparent that the reason the corkscrew was invented is that it's virtually impossible to get a cork out any other way - even the wooden spoon trick is often catastrophic. So limit yourself to screw-top wine, or keep one of these beauties on your key ring.
- A stainless steel keychain corkscrew.
- 'Butterfly' wings fold down while not in use to cover the screw of the corkscrew.
- In red and sliver.
- Size: Open - 9.5 x .8 x .8cm
- Closed - 9.5 x 1 x 1cm
