In 1984 Marvel revolutionized comic book storytelling with the release of the legendary "Secret Wars". While the epic battles were fought between the universe of heroes and villains one event would transform Peter Parker's life; his original blue and red costume was damaged. On the alien planet Peter found a gooey black substance which covered his body to create a black and white symbiote costume that was capable of powers that were too good to be true.
A few months later, the substance was discovered to be an alien parasite. When Spider-Man rejected it the parasite merged with Eddie Brock to create the monstrous and immensely popular Marvel villain, Venom. Making numerous comic book appearance and the film Spider-Man 3, he has been recreated as this highly detailed Venom Unbound Fine Art Statue.
Crouched and ready to strike out, the monstrous Venom gladly offers up the high ground to the webslinger. Brock and the symbiote have perfectly synced and taunt their prey to capture it in a deadly hold. This Statue captures the look of Venom's muscled physique along with a sculpted alien physiology to show how the symbiote can easily shift forms for an imposing look. Venom's face is plastered with his trademark grin and curling tongue. The stand comprises of broken concrete street which sets the destructive scene.
Hand sculpted by Erick Sosa with an amazing amount of detail, Venom Unbound stands almost 10 inches tall in glorious 1/6 scale. Venom makes for an awesome stand-alone display, the statue's base and pose are designed to create a battle scene with the previous release of the Amazing Spider-Man Unleashed Fine Art Statue from Kotobukiya. - A.D.
